SIVALAYAM was inaugurated on the 13th of Feb 2000 at Narada Gana Sabha Mini Hall, T.T.K.Road, Alwarpet, Chennai-600 018.The kuthuvilakku was lit by Smt. Rama Baradvaj, Director, Anghahara Academy of Performing Arts, Yorba Linda, LA, USA.Madurai Sri G.S.Mani iyer the great exponent in all types of music and a good hearted friend, philosopher and guide to one and all kindly accepted to be present and inaugurated SIVALAYAM. Sri R. Krishnaswami President, Federation of City Sabhas and Seceratry, Narada Gana Sabha and a well wisher and best friend of all artists was the Chief Guest. The group behind SIVALAYAM is very young and energetic.Under the head of the popular Mridangam Vidwan J.SkandaPrasad a team of coordinaters Sri T.Raghavaraman, Smt.Bama Viswesvaran and Smt.Gnaneshwari work hard to bring things together. Sri N.Suresh, a devoted worker looks after other out door works. G. Balaji a student of Sri Skandaprasad helps in all ways including this particular webpage desingning.
Apart from this Sri Skandaprasad also does audio editing and mastering. He has a long term plan to bring out number of audio albums in CD form for the advantage of the future generations.
